Constant Payne was an animated pilot I wrote and produced for Nickelodeon Animation. The show is about a non-powered crime fighting genius named Doc Payne and his daughter, Amanda Payne. This was to be Nickelodeon's first Action-Adventure show. None had been tried previously because no one could see how the show could appeal to both girls and boys. I solved that problem by making the daughter the star of the show and having the father character be a major ass-kicking good guy to appeal to the boys. From Day One on the pilot, there were always certain executives at the Network who felt that an action-adventure show was inappropriate for kid-friendly Nickelodeon, and after the 9/11 attacks, they used the resulting fear and paranoia in New York City to kill the show. Oh well... their loss, really.

“Doc” Payne Click the Above picture or the link. It's big. It's 10 minutes long. It's a 40-meg Quicktime movie. But it's worth every second of download time. NEW! (3/21/02) If you liked the pilot, please sign my guestbook -- I'm using it as "proof" to media executives that there's an actual demand for this show. ![]() View My Guestbook Sign My Guestbook Tell your friends you like Payne!
